APA-CommConnect: Mit Social-Media zum Wahlerfolg, Politische Kommunikation im Social-Web

Event produced by: APA-DeFacto

The past election to the National Council has shown that anyone who understands social media has already mastered a good part of the election campaign and the political debate. However, this development holds opportunities and dangers: Social media communication is considered credible and authentic, fast and barrier-free, but also paves the way for populism, echo chambers and false reports.

We look at the presence leaders in the social networks of the past election, and how their campaigns have affected the outcome of the election. We also want to know how the various channels are used in the coalition negotiations and what the economy can look to the parties’ communication strategies.

PR MEASUREMENT – INNOVATIONS AND INDUSTRY FRAMEWORKS

November is PR Measurement Month – a global opportunity for communicators to reflect on best practice as well as emerging areas of research interest.

An initiative of the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC), Measurement Month is supported in Australia by the PRIA Education Community Committee.

In this ACPRESS webinar, we review the latest industry resources available to help communicators prove their value including AMEC’s Integrated Evaluation Framework and Measurement Maturity Mapper along with a SMART Objective Builder designed especially for communicators.

Potential questions

  1. What are the barriers to adopting new M&E frameworks?
  2. How do industry frameworks measure up against academic rigour?
  3. Do frameworks for measurement really count?
  4. Faced with a measurement task, how would academia and industry tackle the challenge?
  5. Are measurement frameworks the domains of academia?Bio: Deb Camden Bachelor of Business (QUT), MBA (UQ)Deb Camden is an Australian communication veteran with more than 35 years’ experience as a strategic communication consultant and a Bronze Award winner at the 2019 International Awards for Communication Effectiveness.

A member of AMEC and the PRIA Education Community Committee, Deb is the innovator behind The Communication Dividend, a new best-practice data and analytics solution that empowers communication professionals to prove their value.

AMEC Planning Guide Launch Event

Event produced by: ENGINE Mischief & AMEC

While the professional discipline of planning is over 50 years old in advertising, it is still relatively new in PR.

Strategic campaign planning should be a critical, inseparable part of measurement and evaluation.

But too often, it‘s a missing component, limiting the ability for PR and Communications to demonstrate impact.

The new AMEC Campaign Planning Guide, produced by ENGINE Mischief with AMEC, will demonstrate how we can move from “writing a plan”, to Planning being the voice of the audience (and their influences), the guardian of effectiveness, and seller of ideas.

It will explore how Planning can help overcome some of the common challenges both agencies and in-house communications professionals face, including:

  • Ensuring that effective measurement and evaluation is considered at the beginning of a campaign.
  • Focusing on key objectives and desired outputs, and avoiding a scattergun approach to communications.
  • Considering the most appropriate timeframe for analysis, and guarding against short-termism.

How to Enhance Your Evaluation Efforts

Event produced by: Burrelles

Join Burrelles and Jon Meakin, as he discusses some of the issues common to any PR professionals wrestling with how to enhance their evaluation efforts, be they in-house or agency, and try to answer questions such as:

  • What does good evaluation look like?
  • There’s so much I could measure, but what should I measure?
  • How do I persuade colleagues we need to change what we’ve been doing?
  • Where and how do I begin?

Speakers:

Jon Meakin, Global Head of Strategic Services, Grayling

Jon sits on the board of AMEC (the Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication) and the founding chair of AMEC’s Agency Group. Earlier this year, Jon established ‘Common Ground’ an AMEC initiative designed to embed measurement and evaluation best practice measurement throughout the PR agency sector. Common Ground is based on the principle that while agencies may be fierce rivals in most regards, when it comes to measurement there is more that unites them than there is divides them.
