Following the success of the initial Rising Stars campaign, AMEC is proud to run this initiative again for 2022/23 to recognize and celebrate future measurement leaders and spotlight those who are making great progress on their communication measurement journey. We are calling on AMEC members and our wider community including industry partners, students, educators, and friends of our association to nominate individuals who may be at the start of their measurement journey and who show great measurement potential. This initiative is open to AMEC members and non-members and there are no fees to enter. The submit link below will take you to the form to nominate a Rising Star for 2022/23. Nominations are now open. The deadline for nominations is close of business on Monday 16th January 2023. SUBMIT A RISING STAR 2023 NOMINATION NOW Winners will be notified in February 2023. Successful individuals and the organisations they work for or study with will be recognised and celebrated in a follow-up social media campaign and encouraged to participate (if they would like to) in an AMEC led initiative which may take the form of a webinar or working group in 2023. AMEC board members and representatives from our Gen Hub special interest group will consider the nominations and choose 15 winners who demonstrate potential in this industry. Past Rising Stars winners have: shown huge potential, but may still be in a junior role may have switched from PR to measurement, could be returning to work after some time away, or might work in PR but have a particular interest or skill in measurement and evaluation worked to educate clients or colleagues on measurement related issues demonstrated a can-do attitude pushed innovation forward demonstrated a desire to constantly improve processes and insights increased revenue or profitability in your organisation nurtured great client relationships supported other team members encouraged the use of AMEC best practice such as the Barcelona Principles or Integrated Framework may be a university student who is particularly interested in the data and analytics element of the course We simply ask that the person nominating reveals in a short paragraph their reason for nominating the rising star. AMEC is excited to learn of the many qualities, prior experience, and activities which this broad group of people bring to our measurement community. Frequently asked questions See below for some FAQs related to the rising stars initiative (and why it differs to the ‘Young Professional of the Year’ category at the AMEC awards): What is the difference between the Rising Stars programme and the Young Professional Award? AMEC Rising Stars: No age limit. This is an initiative as part of the celebratory programme developed for the 25-year anniversary of AMEC in 2021. The concept is to highlight the next generation of leaders. This comes with online recognition, but no physical award to the winner. This is a AMEC led collaboration headed by AMEC Board Directors Steph Bridgeman and Amrita Sidhu, working with the AMEC Gen Hub Special Interest Group to highlight new and upcoming talent in the industry and provide an opportunity for acknowledgement of young pros, who we would like to know about, celebrate even if they do not have the budget or practical experience yet to enter the AMEC Awards Young Professional category. The AMEC Young Professional Award: Restricted to professionals under 35 years of age and a set scoring criterion. Entries scored by a global panel of judges and awarded at the AMEC Global Communication Effectiveness Awards Ceremony during AMEC Measurement Month in November. Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 awards announced on November 17, see more information on the AMEC Awards Why is there a fee for one and not the other? The AMEC Young Professional award is an established award celebrating the ‘best of the best’ operated as part of the AMEC Global Communication Effectiveness Awards program which is in its 20th year. There is a formal judging process culminating in a physical award presented at the ceremony along with recognition on the website and across social media. The Rising Stars campaign was born out of the celebration of the AMEC 25th Anniversary in 2021 to give thanks to the heroes of our industry. We will recognise and celebrate successful rising stars on the AMEC website and in social media posts, individually and as a group and have an opportunity to take part in future outreach events. Can someone enter both? Absolutely, defined by totally differing criteria and to recognize different qualities in nominees, being recognized by one does not guarantee recognition on the other or both since they have different judging criteria and recognition. 2021 Rising Stars See the 2021 Rising Stars here, some of who participated in regional panel webinars to great success in 2021 promoting careers in communication measurement and analytics.
