International association for the measurement and evaluation of communication
Measurement Month 2016 was the biggest so far, with over 130 free to attend events in all continents. The events ranged from twitter chats, webinars, to breakfast briefings, half day conferences and evening workshops. Richard Bagnall, CEO of Prime Research and AMEC Chair Elect, described Measurement Month this year as “an enormous success.” He said: “The feedback from people at events to the newly launched Integrated Evaluation Framework has been incredible and augurs well for an industry looking to update and improve its measurement techniques in an ever changing world.” Paul Hender, Head of Insights, Gorkana. “Measurement Month is a vital initiative to raise awareness of the importance of measurement and educate the market on what best practice looks like. Gorkana was delighted to be able to support this year’s programme by organising a number of events and helping to gauge the overall success of Measurement Month.” Some firms took part in Measurement Month this year for the first time, including byBrick who organised three sell-out events in Sweden. Ann-Sofie Krol, CEO of byBrick Insight said: “Measurement Month is an important business initiative from AMEC. We found it an inspiring and successful business building opportunity to engage with new customer contacts. Our events in Sweden also helped us build awareness of the AMEC brand communication and PR organisations”. Jesper Andersen, Strategy Advisor, Quantum Public Relations, Copenhagen: “We were looking for a way to engage future generations of communication professionals and found it giving Measurement Month guest lectures at our local university and business school.” Austin Gaule, Media Analysis Director at Universal Information Services: “We were thrilled to be able to take part in this important educational week with AMEC. The value comes from knowing that we are doing our part to educate not only our industry friends and clients, but students who so desperately need to have when entering their professional life.” Nicole Moreo, Director, Research and Insights, Peppercomm, said: “Measurement Month provided Peppercomm the opportunity to put a spotlight on the increasing importance of measurement with employees, clients, and prospective clients in a more meaningful and impactful way as the communications landscape moves towards a more integrated model. By hosting webinars, networking events, and participating in conversation online, we have seen the interest in measurement increase, and are excited to keep the conversation rolling forward.” Francois Van Dyk – Head of Operations, Ornico: “AMEC’s Measurement Month has grown from strength to strength. Proving the value of communication has been a great challenge for African communicators and this educational aspect is proving invaluable and a great way to start new business relationships.”
